Monday 8th June 2015 to Sunday 14th June 2015

Monday 8th June 2015
Up early (surprising as didn't get to bed until 11pm and was totally knackered when I woke up) but up town and walking dog by 5:30 so all good.  Rich Doar's birthday so at Tescos just before 8am for fuddling purposes.  Lot of stressful work over the course of the day.  Back home for about 6.15.   Tea. Dog Walk. Loaded car up and took stuff down lotty.  Came back home cause thought missus wanted motor but she didn't.   Down to lotty on bike anyway.   Got mini row of peas in that had been done in gutter pipe in the greenhouse for months.  Got a ton of weeding done on new plot.  Got a short row of turnips in that will need serious thinning doing in due course.  Put the three(!) sweet corn plants that came up in the greenhouse into plot 7. Watered everything then back home early for a change at 9.45.  Have left covering over runner beans for time being.
Mini row of pea - raised in gutter in greenhouse

Plot 13 is all but weeded now

Plot 13 is all but fully populated now - odd gap here and there is all.

Tuesday 9th June 2015
Leaving runner beans covered looks inspired as was scraping the car windscreen again this morning. Dog walked and home by 6.15.   Into office for 8am after nipping to lotty to measure up the gap for me gate. - 29" I think (probably ought to measure again but I could move the gate post if necessary!!!

Got home from work about 6.10pm.  Watched a bit of Women's World Cup - some proper industrial tackles going in.   Had England vs New Zealand one day international on radio 4 - quality performance where have they been hiding Rashid you wonder?   Down lotty with missus - finished weeding plot 7.  Got some chairs on there too.  Everything watered, walked home as missus went home early. Took a load of muck out of the big raised beds after first removing the pumpkin and butternut squashes. Dunked 3 barrowloads of muck and soil from the raised bed onto plot 7.

Plot 7 - fully weeded

Watered everything and then walked home about 9:30pm

Wednesday 10th June 2015
Dentist day, oh joy.  Woke up at 3.45 as it was already getting light, stopped in bed until 5.20.  Took dog up town after scraping car (feeling mighty glad that I covered the beans up!) and fetched papers.

Scraped car for third time in June!!

Into the office for 8am. Dentist at 4:30 (appointment at 4:00pm but not complaining).  Tea. Dog walk.  Lotty.  Fence up thanks to nephew Ben's assistance. Have banged an extra post in at the front for a future second gate potentially.
Fence up
Thursday 11th June 2015
Up early (5:20).  Dog walked. No paper as she wouldn't go that way.  Back home, brekky, ready for walk.  Took the pooch out a second time walked to scrap yard near the terraces and back to make sure she did her business before getting off to work at 7.20am.  Stopped off at Tesco's to get tat for another office birthday.  After work the usual tea, dog walk routine then down lotty.  Got 20 odd brassicas into new plot, got butternut squash and pumpkin on mounds, watered, netted the brassicas. Home for 10.15 and watering stuff there then!

Little brassica patch - definitely cabbages in it but no label with the others the bosskat bought (cauliflowers I reckon)

Bed late, watched Punk Brittania and had a drinky poo too.  All goosd stuff.

Friday 12th June 2015
Up late at 5.45 (reap as ye sow and all that).  Dog walked, papers fetched into the office for 8.15 so not too bad.  Have got football presentation tonight and then Chip's 50th to go to.  Busy life. Nipped to lotty for ten minutes on way home to make sure weeds were bagged up ahead of rain coming in.  Started raining while I was there - perfect timing.  Netted the strawberries too as somethings had one of the ripe ones.  Pesky varmints.  Then home for tea and then off to Aztecs Football Presentation night - good fun and Lucy got Manager's player of the year award so a good night indeed.

Then to Chippy's Do at the Royal Oak - got there for 10:30, a pint and a burger - can't beat it!!  Back home about midnight and cricket was on channel 5 - as I'd got no idea of the final result I thought I'll have some of that but was too tired to stay up for end of it so off to bed and still didn't know the result!

Saturday 13th June 2015
Up at 5.45 again - heard Phil go at 5:30 - gone off in a lorry with Steven to Portsmouth so we'll not see him all day!!  Took the pooch out, got papers, fetched Piccy B brekko for me and Lucy.  Did some work on the laptop, watered everything in the greenhouse - think I'm going to tidy the bugger up this afternoon. Took a load of weeds and what have you from the lotty to the tip and got things ready for when weather picks up again.

One of three trips to the tip with weeds and gubbins

Bed early which got me into a bit of trouble.

Sunday 14th June 2015
Slept 11 hours.  Still up early and took dog walk.  Down lotty - got bean row up on new plot, and planted celeriac and a ruck of carrots, 1 butternut squash, foxglove in the corner.  Am playing catchup so things need to get whizzing.  Back home at 11am. Dog walked, another hour down the lotty and then walked back.  Lunch at the Cross at 2:30.  Back home - acquired shed delivered to lotty, back for last 30 minutes or so of Slovenia vs England - so saw the last four goals of the match - perfick.  Dog walked, bits and bobs before final dog walk of the day and early bed for an early start.

Monday 1st June 2015 to Sunday 7th June 2015

Monday 1st June 2015
Hell's teeth, how can it be June already??  Never mind, back in the saddle today. Up at 5.15, dog walked, papers fetched into work for just gone 8am.  All good stuff.  Back home from work at 6.10.  Not much doing with crap weather.  Got some potatoes sorted out to go into the new plot though, itching to do some work on it.

Tuesday 2nd June 2015
Up at 5.18.  Dog walked papers fetched into the office for 7.45!  Hopefully I can get to the allotment tonight and make a bit of progress.  There's a load of seed potatoes in the lotty shed ready to go in.  I might also get some leeks from Wyaston nursery I think.

Plot number 7 the next stage in the SidAllot Empire
Went down on bike at 8pm got two rows of spuds in after digging over the area for em - soil is really cloggy and needs some work on it really but too late in the season to really sort it out - we'll see what happens

Wednesday 3rd June 2015
Late - didn't get up until 5:30!! Anyway, dog got walked, papers got fetched. Got to work for 8am after a quick nip to lotty for some mental planning!

First two rows of spuds in plot 7

Absolute pandemonium at work with a project launch - such is life.  Got home lateish.  Long slow dog walk but nice views!

Down lotty with Phil strimmed the top of the new plot and round the perimeter of the old plot.  Bed about 10:30.   Read a bit about turnips - they grow quick apparently!!

Thursday 4th June 2015
Up early 5:18.  Dog walk.  Papers fetched.  Blood pressure test - high but know why.  Work for 7.45.  Another stressy day but still ticking along.  Been doing blood pressure tests all day and they're a bit all over the place.  Think it will settle down in due course in a week or two.  After work we had fish and chips from the new chippie in Ashbourne at PJs request - bloody awful they was too.  Then took poocher for a walk along the line - saw half a dozen Nuthatches I think - need a zoom camera to be sure.

Then down the lotty - am digging round the new plot to get a fence in as quick as poss.  Put two mini rows of broad beans in finishing off the packet exactly  - will be sick to death of broad beans this year I reckon!!!   Watered everything before coming home - there's supposed to be thunder storms today but won't hurt I reckon.

Friday 5th June 2015
Early start the usual.  Went down lotty after work dug the width at the top.  Gave everything a right good watering.

Saturday 6th June 2015
Up early. Dog walked.  Papers fetched.  Up to Hangar 4 for a load of fencing kit.  £85 yikes.  Then down lotty to get it all up to plot.  Fetched brekko for Lucy and me.  Back down lotty.  Bean row up. Golf at lunchtime - buggered the timings up and Doug thought I was a no-show but we got set up.   Played 15 holes but it was getting slow so we walked off.  Coffee in clubhouse then back home to mow front lawn and the bit at the side of the road.   Chippie tea, a few scoops then back down the lotty.  Did some weeding and a ton of watering.

Sunday 7th June 2015
Up early.  Dog walked (twice).  Me and missus went down lotty got the beans in.  Sweetcorn also gone in. Lots of weeding done.  Fencing stakes banged in. Came home about 1:30pm.  Lunch.  Few jobs outside put chilli peppers out, put loads of stuff into big pots. All good stuff.  Over to mum and dads for tea. Dog walked up the hill.  Back home about 7:30.  Down lotty again until 10pm.  Tons of weeding, moved a couple of fencing posts I wasn't happy with (no sure I'm happy with em now!).  Watered everything again copiously.  Have put a bit of step in on plot 13 so I can step over the fence easier - it will be great!  Was coming off the site at 10pm when saw someone had covered up their beans so went back and covered ours up.  Busy weekend - properly knackered now.

Monday, 1 June 2015

Sunday 24th May 2015 to Sunday 31st May 2015

Sunday 24th May 2015  - Saturday 30th May 2015

A bit of fishing, a lot of shopping, masses of dog walking, lots of good food, booze etc.  All the usual.  Dropped Lucy and her friend off at Holyhead Cinema one day - kid's tickets for just £3 each! Awesome.  Tides were rubbish and consequently the fishing was too.  Went to Caernarvon which was good though.

Saturday 30th May 2015
Back in about 4 hours so rather quicker than coming back than going out there!   Got home unloaded, did some bits in the greenhouse and garden.

Sunday 31st May 2015
Up early, dog walked. Bit in the greenhouse, bit at the lotty. Lunch at the Cross.  Nursery to get some Runner Beans and ended up buying more besides.  Back home, lotty again got a load of good weeding done and started on new plot.

Monday, 18 May 2015

Monday 18th May 2015 to Saturday 23rd May 2015

Monday 18th May 2015
Up early.  Dog walk truncated due to rain. Back home, shaved and what have you.  Papers fetched. 6.15 second dog walk.  Into office for 7.55 Back home, tea. big dog walk. Put a load of dwarf french beans on a mini-wigwam in a tub.  Took the missing dwarf french bean (let's call him Dozy) down to the lotty to finish the mini-wigwam down there off.  Covered it up with a bit of fleece.  Got some more mole-hill soil for me soil store.  Earthed up the emerging potatoes a wee bit.  Back home, bed by 10pm

Tuesday 19th May 2015
Didn't get up until 6.10!!  Have had a bad back for a couple of days so I neurofenned up before bedtime last night and paid the consequences this morning.  Dog walked papers fetched, greenhouse done, no trip to lotty needed so was in office for 8.10am which wasn't bad, all things considered.  Home for 6.15,  Tea, dog walk.  Pottered about.  Sorted out water butt inside greenhouse - plants like warmer water you know.   Found roof bars - think I may need to replace them this year - will ring Halfords tomorrow.. Got Phil to go down lotty and finish off the IBC wooden encasing that was never finished!

Wednesday 20th May 2015
Got up at 5am - back to normal.  Back is still hurting a bit but nothing like on Sunday so that's good. Dog walk, brekko, bit of watering and stuff in greenhouse.  Into work for 8am.  Troublesome day then went to group after, lost an unlikely half pound which I'm pleased with as it was unearned. Didn't do a great deal in the evening but got the roof bars sorted for the car with some brute force adjustments and  cunning guile. So that's a big worry off my mind and the buggers are fitted better than previous years for sure!  Watched an episode of elementary that was really good as always.  Bed about 11pm after watching some Phil tat called Great Big Swords (really).

Thursday 21st May 2015
Up at 5.20m, bit late.   Dog walked, papers fetched.  Opened up greenhouse (only watering at night now as my book advises! Into office for 7.55.  All good stuff. Got home. Tea. Dog Walk. Roof box on. Sorting stuff out to go on hols. Tinkering in greenhouse working out what else can come out so the lad don't need to water it.  Going to be busy tomorrow and first thing Saturday and that's for sure!

Friday 22nd May 2015
Up at 5.10, dog walked slowly, back home for 6.15am. Brekko then off to the lotty to have a look at plot number 7 which is three up from my current plot.  It don't look too bad so have made enquiries about what rent might be for it as we're a bit late for getting most things going.  As it's got no fence I'm thinking I can bang loads of spuds in and put in a fence come Autumn or put in a mini fence with the chicken wire I've still got left to protect some stuff perhaps. We'll see.  Into the office for 8.15am

Saturday 23rd May 2015
Car loaded up.  Did a couple of hours down the lotty.  Off to Wales - six hour trip.  Never mind got there and relax!

Monday, 11 May 2015

Monday 11th May 2015 to Sunday 17th May 2015

Monday 11th May 2015
Up at 5:15  Dog walked, papers fetched. Potted 2 butternut squash and on pumpkin as I noticed they were very dry at the bottom when I planted some at the lotty yesterday.  Nipped to lotty to take covers off dwarf french beans.

Lorry broke down on A38 so not into office until 8.15.   Hectic day, most of stuff got done.  Back home for 6.15.  Tea, big dog walk.  Took missus up town to get some money.  Got Phil to drop me off at Halfords.  Picked up bike, fixed me back brake and fitted me new grips for £12!!  Can't argue with that can you?  Rode bike down to lotty.  Got some molehill soil.  Did an outer wigwam for the french beans.

Home, shut down the greenhouse, bit of telly, bed for 10.30.

Tuesday 12th May 2015
Up early - 5:20.  Dog walked, papers fetched.  Polished shoes a day late.  Opened up Greenhouse, brekkie and ready for work.  Popped up lotty on way to work, put a few more broad bean seeds(?) in as this is the last month you can apparently.  Have a bit of a dilemma at home as don't seem to have any runner beans according to plant labels just loads and loads of dwarf french beans - will have to see if I've got that right. Into office for 8.10am after a bit of a queue on A38

Got a load of canes from Wilko at lunchtime for diddly squat compared to the garden centre purchase last year.  £2.50 for 10 8' canes.  Marvellous.

After work it was a case of driving over to mum and dad's and sorting out the old PC.  Bizarrely the machine would play sound from media player but not from Internet Explorer and not from Google Chrome.  After much scratching of head it turned out the solution was to go: Control Panel, Internet Options, Advance, Multimedia option, Play Sound in Web Pages, switch off, switch on again.   Obvious when you think about it.   Anyway, got home for about 7:30.  Tea then down to the lotty to cover everything up because the Oracle says there's going to be a frost (even though the forecast was 7 degrees).

Bed at 10:15.  Funny old day.

Wednesday 13th May 2015
Woke up at 4am.  Thought shall I get up and see how frosty it is, then thought no, I'll get up at 5:15am, the proper time.  No frost, quelle surprise.  Took dog a walk, fetched papers, uncovered everything, got stuff out of greenhouse that I'd put away.  Uncovered stuff in the greenhouse against the terrible frost that never bloomin happened!  Got home after visiting group maintained that'll have to do!  Home, tea, dog walk.  Mowed lawns; front, back and lane. Cycled to lotty, covered stuff up as both Phil and Bosskat predicted frosts.  Some chance but if I don't after being given fair warning and there is a frost I'll never hear the end of it.  Did a bit of weeding while I was down there all good stuff.  Fixed washing machine when got back.  Happy days, bed by 11, read book a bit too.

Thursday 14th May 2015
Up at 5:15, walking dog, fetching papers, watering everything.  Planted some Scarlet Emporer Runner Beans. Down Lotty to uncover, work for 8.20.  All good stuff.  Got Phil's phone back from Tango Communications on Normanton Road in Derby - cost a bomb but he's happy and he's paid for it.  Good.  Got back from work about 6.30, tea, dog walk. Greenhouse, covering up of plants for last time I think then down lotty.  Covering up a bit and a bit of tidying with the boss. Dug late pit for runner beans and got some newspaper down in the bottom to hold water a bit.  Plenty of muck down there so not worried on that front! Did a bit of work on ChurchBayCottages.com

Friday 15th May 2015
Up at 5:26, very tired.  Dog walk, brekko, greenhouse, lottery, work for 8.30.  All on rails pretty much!

Saturday 16th May 2015
Up early. Dog walk, paper, piccy B.  Loads of work in the greenhouse re-arranging to make it tidy and easier.  Have put a water butt inside to make watering easier.  Allotment. Golf. Allotment.

Sunday 17th May 2015
Up early. Dog walk, lotty, trip to take John H's card.  Lotty some more. Over to Darley Dale for tea, nom nom.  Back home.  Dog walk.

16/13.5

Tuesday, 5 May 2015

Monday 4th May 2015 to Sunday 10th May 2015

Monday 4th May 2015
Up early.  Dog walked, paper fetched. Loads of potting up in the greenhouse, got some plants outside too - lettuces and some cornflowers and stuff. Then down lotty, more digging and a raised bed with about 24 cabbages of three different sorts in it.  Got a big net over it too, so getting there slowly.  More dog walking, bed for 9.45

Tuesday 5th May 2015
The usual start to the day, dog, papers, greenhouse, work.  Took an hour and a quarter to actually get to work though which wasn't fun.  Back home for 6.30.  After big tea I walked to the lotty and did a couple of hours and then walked back.  All good stuff.

Wednesday 6th May 2015
Up at the crack.  Nice and dry day.  The usual morning routine. Into work for 8.15 after getting a refund on an aldi helmet that wasn't right (XXL my a*se).  Stressful day, home for 6.30.  Didn't go lotty but did a bit in the greenhouse.

Thursday 7th May 2015
Lie in - got up at 6.15, slow walk with the pooch but back before 7am.  Potted a load of sweet peas before me and Phil laid a load of slabs for next door.   Golf at 2pm with Dad and Uncle Michael at Ashbourne -  good fun for all.   Tea at Stepping Stones - very nice.  Nipped to lotty to check all was well.  Bed 10.15

Friday 8th May 2015
Up at 5am although woke up at 4am.  Dog walked - no papers - election so nipped up in car a bit later.   Into work and more hassle at 8.20am. Grand.  Home for 6.15ish so not all bad.  Dog walks, fetched some stuff from the lotty.

Saturday 9th May 2015
Up early - the usual.  Fetched Piccy B.  Took Phil's phone to Derby to get it fixed.  Got to wait until next week and it's going to cost a fortune.   Golf at 12.45.  31 points, just scraped a win to take the money.  Took load of rubble and stuff to the recycling center.   Update the net sort of.  Still not ideal but will do I think.

Sunday 10th May 2015
Up early, dog walked.  Load of work at the lotty in the morning.  Took missus for lunch.  Neatly got wiped out on the way.  Back to lotty in the afternoon and got a load more done.

Monday, 27 April 2015

Monday 27th April 2015 to Sunday 3rd May 2015

Monday 27th April 2015
Up early (5.10am).  Dog walked, papers fetched. -2 celsius overnight which is just what my peas could have done without but I covered them up a bit on Sunday night so hopefully they'll be okay.  Damn frost.  Got ready for work and on way stopped off at lotty to uncover and water with some warm water from home.  Damn frost.  In work for just after 8am need to avoid Ambergate as not impressed with ten minute wait for traffic lights.  Busy day.  Home for 6.30ish.  Tea. Dog walk. Insulating greenhouse a bit better.  Down lotty with Phil.   Covered up peas and beans.  Bit of measuring. Back home, bed early.

Tuesday 28th April 2015
Up at 5.10 again.  Walked past Church with dog at 5:24 -  might be earliest yet as cleaners for surgery hadn't arrived when we walked past there and they're always hoovering by time me and the pooch go past.

Walked past church at 5:24
Papers fetched, back home, bagel and a coffee, shaved and showers.  Breaky, wished Lucy luck for exams. Off to Lotty, took fleece off the peas and broad beans gave everything a water (took 2 litres of hot water with me so it wasn't putting straight cold water on them).
Peas and broad beans seem to be surviving, good job too!
Got petrol on the way and still into work by 8.15 so not too shabby all told.  Am bringing a couple of nets home to do a bit of joining up work tonight.

Went to Lidl at lunchtime got some more pea and carrot seeds, all good stuff.   Home for about 6.30.  No need to take dog walk as she's going with the bosskat.

Down to Lotty on bike.  Covered up the peas and broad beans.  Got the first earlies in.  Got three or four barrows of muck into the original big raised bed.  Got two barrows of top soil going the other way! Getting there slowly.  By 8.50 it was getting a bit dark so cycled back home the long way.

Wednesday 29th April 2015
Up  late at 5:30.  Shorter walk in rain with dog.  Watered the plantation, the usual.  Down to lotty in rain to uncover the peas and broad beans.  Work for 8.20 all good.

Doctor's appointment in afternoon, b.p. up a bit needs a bit of monitoring.  Did a gutter of peas for putting into plot around third week of May hopefully.  After tea went down the lotty and did a bit of work moving stuff around to set up the last raised bed which is only a 6" one so not as raised as the others!

Covered everything up, put stuff away and on the bike home at 20:56 still a bit of light there too.

Thursday 30th April 2015
Up at 5:30 again, definitely a lie-in.  Dog walk, papers fetched. Brek, Allotment. Plantation. Off to work 8.20am

Got home from work about 6.15.   Tea.  Dog walk.  Went to see Darley Moor agricultural farm sale – hell’s teeth there’s some junk but also some stuff that brings back a lot of memories:
Uncle Peter has some kit like this for chopping up swedes and turnips for cattle food

Got Phil to drop me off at lotty on way back.  Glad I did too as everything needed covering up from the frost that was forecasted.   Did some more digging and sieving.  Getting there gradually.  Phil come back for me about 9pm and that was that.  Shut the greenhouse down in the dark, never mind.

Another plot has become available that looks like it doesn't need a load of work.

No shed or anything but not overgrown so that's good.  No fence either so possibly just do spuds and courgettes in first year.

Friday 1st May 2015
How on earth can it be Friday 1st May? Don’t know.  Got up at 5.35 after opening my eyes and realizing it was getting light – am evidently cream crackered it would seem.  Anyway, got up and got the dog walked, papers fetched.  Am going to a group in Belper at 8.45 so had an extra half hour so went down the lotty uncovered stuff.  Dug up a bit more path and sieved it into the beds.   Need to make my mind up how I’m going to finish the path off really. Slope, step, dig all the way round to the gate.   Pound and a half on this week which I'm somewhat irritated about but you reap as ye sow.

Saturday 2nd May 2015
Up early. Dog walked. Papers fetched. On bus to Derby by 10.15, met up with Jason F and his mate Martin.  Watched the worst game of football in a long time.  All they needed was a poxy draw and they couldn't even manage that.

Derby County 0 Reading 3 - Absolute crap
Went to Dolphin for something to eat after, very nice.  On bus home for 4.30 and lift back with the missus. Marvellous

Sunday 3rd May 2015
Up early as always.  Dog walked but absolutely chucking it down so only a short one.  Got the Greenhouse complete insulated so that's progress of sorts.  By 11am it had stopped and took her a proper walk.  Then we went down lotty to do a bit.  Got a row of Broccoli in and some more digging. Then off to me mum and dad's for tea, very nice.   Loads of dog walks but nothing else to report as yet.

16/13.5

Thursday, 23 April 2015

Monday 20th April 2015 to Sunday 26th April 2015

Monday 20th April 2015
Just the usual - 5.20 got up, dog walked, papers fetched, shave, shower, breakfast, water everything off to work.   Phil off to work in Ashby-de-la-zouch at 7.30 so got him up at 6.30

Went and strimmed and stuff at the lotty after walking the pooch and tea.  All good stuff

Tuesday 21st April 2015
Same again, up early.  Got to work about 8.20 - watering stuff is definitely slowing things down and no mistake.   Allotment Association AGM had a bit of a scare when they said there were thoughts to ban pallet compost bins as we've only just put one up a month or so ago.   Need to make it rodent proof. Anyway walked there and back and then took pooch out for a walk when got back, all good stuff!!

Wednesday 22nd April 2015
Same again, early doors but did a trip to lotty to drop off six bags of bark at the plot, watered the onions while I was there. Got to work about 8.30 but can't be helped.  Did a bit of work on the greenhouse when got home going to put bubble wrap up as shade and insulation to boot which seems to be recommended on a lot of the websites.   Measured some wood for cutting the last mini raised bed.

Thursday 23rd April 2015
Up at 5.30. Same old, same old.  Watered the plantation.  Have started putting peas out to harden them up in the morning.  Probably overkill starting them off in greenhouse but what the heck let's give it a go.  Got some bubble wrap installation put up in the greenhouse after taking pooch for evening walk round the meadow.  More to do but getting there.

Friday 24th April 2015
Up late at 5:45.  Dog walk, papers fetched.  Shave, shower, watering off to work.   Took Charli, one of the developers to see a group at Belper Football Club, weighed in at same time.  2lbs off will do as I've done nowt to deserve it!  Bought some M6 nuts to fasten up the bubble wrap from Tri-Ard Fasteners - only went there because Screwfix hadn't got any but will go there again - cost a fraction of what Screwfix wanted.  Brilliant.

Saturday 25th April 2015
Up early.  Dog walked, papers fetched, Down the lotty shifting muck and topsoil about. Ace. Piccy B about 10:30.  Golf for first time in 2 months at 1pm.  No idea what to expect as had literally not even had a golf club in my hand since 28th Feb!   Anyway, I hit the ball great apart from chipping, putting and correct club selection.  For example hit a wedge from about 90 yards over the top of the 7th, hit 9 irons to back of the second and 5th holes.   Three putted all over the place and chipped like an eejit but was pleased I could still play. On the 8th hole one of the few three or four holes I managed to par I hit driver and five wood to the side of the green which for me was not bad at all on a par 5 hole!   Did a bit more down the lotty afterwards.

Sunday 26th April 2015
Up early.  Walked pooch, did a bit of greenhouse, Walked pooch again.  Down the lotty not going potty. Moving soil all over the shop.  Good news Phil has got his trailer sorted so I can have rest of raised beds down there.  I got one bed loaded up with peas, broad beans and sowed two short rows of beetroot and parsnips.  I also put a couple of cauliflowers in to see what would happen.  Anyway, lunchtime at the Cross at Cauldon Lowe - really enjoyed it must take ma and pa there.  Back home, trailer loaded up and raised beds delivered. Loads more soil shifting.  Will get spuds in at last tomorrow.

How big does this look??!!?

First bed - peas, broad beans, beet roots and radished - a bit mixed up but I got tons of space!

Monday 13th April 2015 to Sunday 19th April 2015

Monday 13th April 2015
Up at 5:30.  Dog walked, papers fetched.  Got the lad up as he's one more day of much spreading in sunny Stafford.  Shaved, showered, brekky.   Greenhouse done.  Into the office for just gone 8am - bit of queuing up the A38 now the kids are back at school.

Phil is spreading muck somewhere near Stafford again. Don't know how he can put up with the stink.

Got home in not bad at all time.  Tea.  Dog walk then more pottering.  Potted up sunflowers, tomatoes, chilli peppers, cucumbers, also fired off some more runner beans, dwarf french beans and climbing french beans.   Have ordered some clips to enable me to put some shading up all being well.

Tuesday 14th April 2015
Up at 5:35, felt late, didn't want to get up!  Dog walked early doors, got the boy up.  Watered the plantation.  Into the office at 8.10.  DCFC tonight on a free ticket.  Not brilliant seats but free. Seats in actual fact were fine.  Got RamsBus from Ashbourne at 6.30, couple of beers before game bumped into Mark and Hilly from Hanger 4.  DCFC whooped Blackpool 4-0 - can't ask for any more than that.

Didn't think too much to Derby's performance but a win is a win is a win!   Bed at 11.15 after watching a bit of Newsnight.

Wednesday 15th April 2015
Woke up at 5.45 a bit tired.  Walked the pooch, got the papers.  Watered the plantation.  Into office for 8.15.  All good stuff. Group after work.  3lbs on.  Not surprised head's not in it at the moment!  A bit of potting stuff up in the greenhouse and then managed to drop a load of stuff on me peas.   Bugger.

Thursday 16th April 2015
Up at 5.45 and it was a bit of a struggle to manage that even.  Dog walked. Papers fetched. Plantation sorted.  Into the office for just gone 8am.  Car hit a blackbird on the way into work which has rather soured things.  Made a load of raised bed frames for the lotty.

Friday 17th April 2015
Up early, dog walked.  Day off.  Piccy B.  Making more raised bed frames.  Took them down to the allotments on Phil's tractor and trailer.  All good stuff.

Saturday 18th April 2015
Up early. Dog walk. Piccy B.  Bit of potting. Off to cousin Colins to get a trailer of manure.  About thirty/forty barrow loads up to the plot.  I've got tons of the stuff now!!

Sunday 19th April 2015
Up early dog walk.  Bit of potting.  Down the lotty - set up first smaller  raised bed - took 7 barrows of soil from the original big raised bed -a m not going to have enough soil is the simple answer!   In the afternoon we got the mower going then over to me mums for tea.  Marvellous.

Monday 6th April 2015 to Sunday 12th April 2015

Monday 6th April 2015
Up early.  Feeling like death warmed up.  Trudged along through Ashbourne like a zombie, Lily was happy enough with pace, gave her chance to have a sniff round.  Went to work to finish a big job off.  Left at 3.15pm, got home, went straight to bed. Slept about 13 hours I think.  Heard Derby beat Wigan though so at least some light in the dark.

Tuesday 7th April 2015
Up early.  Walked dog again really slowly.  Did a load of work at home, didn't go into work.  Walked the dog a couple of times, definitely feeling a bit better.

Wednesday 8th April 2015
Up really early.  Slept better but still not really right. Never mind off to the office.   Good thing about being unwell is no apetite meant I lost 7.5lbs at group.  Could do with that every week for a month or two!

Thursday 9th April 2015
Up early. Dog walked, papers etc.etc. Everything coming along nicely in the greenhouse.

Friday 10th April 2015
Supposed to be a day off today but want to check something out first.  All okay in the event, more or less.  Started work on raised beds.  The plan was to do them over the weekend but Phil got some work so two was all that was done.  Such is life.

Saturday 11th April 2015
Made sure Phil got off to work nice and early.  Papers and dog walks.  Fetched Piccy B for me and Lucy - all good stuff.   Bit of potting in the green house.  Mum and dad popped over bought me a new improved chair for me green house - have had to move the hanging baskets to ground level as don't want water dripping all over it.

Down the allotment for a couple of hours in the afternoon.  More digging over, banged down some chicken manure and lime for where the brassicas are going to go.   Took two bags of weeds down to the recycling all good stuff.

Watched a bit of golf when got home (was going to come home and listen to Derby County but realised when Burton were on Radio Derby that the DCFC match must have been at lunch time, never mind).

Sunday 12th April 2015
Up early to make sure Phil got off.  Took pooch a walk. Pottered in the greenhouse.  Me and missus went up to Uttoxeter to do a wee bit of shopping.  All good stuff.  Got four circular stepping stones for the path into the greenhouse £24 !!  License to print money.  Never mind, got them done and got the turf taken down the recycling.  Got lawns mowed after moving the raised beds around.   More golf on telly.  Went bed early'ish though.
