These legs have had it...

Yikes, 48 minutes this morning, 48 minutes!! Good thing was (yes there is one) that I did the five miles when me legs were saying "no way, man" . Kept smiling through and ran a slow 5 miles. Time don't matter when you've non-cooperative legs, it's distance what counts in small amounts.

Have a look at a beginners marathon schedule, for a 'get me round' in under 5hrs, you are way ahead, i'd say you were more on course for under 4 hrs, but you are doing too much. Take a day or two off and cycle, or find a hill and do 20 mins of hill repeats. Mix a run with fartlek training, I use fixed points, normally lamp posts on a long flat(ish) road, sprint-jog-walk between them for a couple of miles. If you are aiming for a marathon, you'll be knackered before you do it. If it's just fitness/weight then it's a different matter.

Thanks for your comment. I had two rest days at the weekend due to decorating commitments and expected to be running like a greyhound this week and am runing more like a sloathe if they do any running? Thanks again
