Monday 30th November 2015
Hell's teeth, last day of November already.  Woke up at 4am again, didn't get up until 5.40.  Dog walked and papers fetched in the rain.  Into the office before 8am.  Fantasy football team did pretty well last week but have got an injury to one of me subs so made a change or two (I am the tinker man - Cech in for De Gea, Ayew in for Payet, Ayew straight into the team in a 3-4-3 formation - what can possibly go wrong!

Well rehearsal didn't happen waited til gone 6.30 and room still not available so buggered off home.  Not good.

Tuesday 1st December 2015
Hell's teeth December already.  Up early but not as early as wee Phil he was off to work at 5:30 for some reason or other.  Walked the dog, fetched papers.  Into the office before 8am - loads to get done.   Home at 6.10pm - tea, dog walked.  Watched film on the little box - Inherent Vice - very odd but enjoyable.   Bed at 10.30pm - bit of a dead arm happening.

Wednesday 2nd December 2015
Funny night's sleep as arm hurt sort of.  Woke at 4am, up at 5:30am, do walked and papers fetched by 6.15am.  Into office 7.55am.   All good stuff.

Thursday 3rd December 2015
Up early.  Dog walked, papers fetched. Into office early. Shifted all the music gear. Busy day. Left a bit early.  Took missus and daughter to see Dynamo at Nottingham, parked at Bardhills and went in on tram (Toton Lane) all good fun but got home a bit late.

Friday 4th December 2015
Up early, the usual.  At Doctors at 7am, appointment for 8am.   Got to work a bit late.  Ton of stuff done, office  for about 9:30.   Lots done, brief rehearsal after work.  Back for 6.30, quick dog walk then off to The Shoulder at Osmaston for Aztecs Pub Quiz which we won, yay!

Saturday 5th December 2015
Up early.  Dog walked, papers fetched.  Golf in a 40 mph wind at lunch time. Final Big Lix gig at in thevening - massive PA system - ears ringing like hell!   Got away about 12.45 top job and a great send-off.   Sold out weeks ago.

Up at 7:30;  Dog walked.  Match of the day.Lunch at The Cross.  Bit of telly.  Walked pooch up Golf course got three good balls, hee hee.  More Telly.  Bed early.

Woke up mighty early at about 4am'ish. Didn't get up to 5.40 though, stupid to get up any earlier as papers wouldn't be in.  Got up.  Scraped the motor (yet another reason to hate this time of year).  Took dog a walk and fetched papers.  Into the office for 7.55am.  Rehearsal tonight so not sure why made such an effort but such is life.  Good rehearsal we plotted a song out in it's entirety and got it pretty much nailed sans vocals.  Back home for about 7.40.  Couple of mini dog walks in the rain - gone very mild considering it started off with scraping the car.   Got NOW TV working on the YouView box which is better than I remembered it being.   So started watching Guardians of the Galaxy which I decided was so good I'd make Lucy watch it too but as she'd got homework we didn't watch the whole dang thing - save a bit for tomorrow.    Updated Fantasy Football team had two players suspended and two free transfers to use so brought in Lukaku from Everton and Ighalo from Watford - had been toying with the idea of Lukaku for ages - he'll probably stop scoring now.

Up at 5.45.   Couldn't find me darned glasses - dog walked, papers fetched,   At Tesco's for 7.40am as we have a leaving fuddle at work.  Some crafty parking going on at Tescos's:

Into office for 7.50, computer took a week to start up.  Such is life, doctor's appointment later. Doctors went okay - blood pressure up a bit - lose weight. Okay.  X-ray booked for next Tuesday to have me knee looked at - in fairness it will probably come down to same thing - lose weight.

Watched end of Guardians of the Galaxy with Lucy - ace film - very enjoyable.


Wednesday 25th November 2015 
Up really early.  Dog walked, papers fetched and back home for 6.25.   Into office for 7.45am.  On fire.  Disappointed with meself a bit.  Should have gone to a leaving do and didn't with no really good reasons - am getting to be a humbug.   As rehearsal was cancelled (part of my grumpiness) and the rehearsal for Friday also cancelled I h\ave re-arranged my X-Ray appointment for Friday at 4.30 so will get results a few days earlier and perhaps get something done if anything can be done.
Back home had tea, Took pooch out.  Watched Jaws on the movie box machine.  Aces.  Drank a bit of booze which was naughty.

Thursday 26th November 2015
Up at 5.45 - keep waking at 4am - not sure what that means.  Took dog out, fetched papers.  Went to Marchington to collect a power booster thing - think I've paid for a piece of scrap - I never learn - always go view first. Such is life.   Into the office for 9:30 so not a bad effort.    Ruddy Facebook showing me a picture from three years ago - a little nail in my heart.

Friday 27th November 2015
Up early.  Dog walked, papers fecthed.  In early 7.45.  Not a bad day.  Had to sort out a load of old file boxes - chuck it I was told so chuck it I did.  Got reports out on time.  Left early for X-rays at St Oswalds Hospital.   Got lucky was there 15 minus early and got x-rayed 10 mins early.   Took shopping to Pads and got drenched in two hundred yards, such is life.   Watched Derby bear Hull 2-0 away from home.

Saturday 28th November 2015
Up early.  Dog walked, papers fetched.  Fetched Lucy from Wirksworth sleepover at 8am.  Piccy Bs on way home.   Cleaned Missus car out.  Got golf stuff ready.  Fur and Feather didn't play anything like good enough although parred two from last three holes - weather was crap.   Nipped to Aldi on way home for a bottle or two.  Bed earlyish.  Very tired.

Sunday 29th November 2015 
Got up at 7.15 - chucking it down with rain.  Back to bed for 15 minutes, weather-check, off we go.  Dog walked.  Polished shoes. Checked on powerboost thing - not sure it's charging up TBH.  Oh Well.   Fantasy football team did well - 69 points so far.   Got loads of seeds put into envelopes to try out next year not sure if that's the done thing or not buy going to give it a go.  Got the greenhouse fully insultated with bubble wrap again.

 Nipped to Aldi around lunch time got some wine in for Xmas.  Over to me mum and dad's early afternoon so bosskat could go shopping.

Took pooch a walk round the hillside.  Cruddy weather but that's November I suppose. 

Came back home with ranty Phil.  That's an experience.  Watched you, me and the apocalypse with Lucy before bed a bit early.

Up at 5:49.  Dog walked, papers fetched.  Into office for 7.55 then had to wait 10 minutes for windows updates.  Good day in the office (sort of!).   Practice after work, two songs pretty much sorted, another that won't be too much bother.  

Same kit I've had for 31 years - mum and dad got it for getting all me o-levels - spoilt I was. 

Home for 8.15, dog walked, watched after hours and something else on telly and bed at 10.30 which was way too late.

Up at 5:56.  Dog walked, papers fetched, halfwit woken and sent packing.  Off to work at 7.10 got in at 8.45, marvellous - Lorry Fire on M1 meant queuing all the way from bloody Ripley. Still, mustn't grumble at least I wasn't late or involved in a lorry fire on the M1 so perhaps should stop moaning.  After work was supposed to go to see Karima Francis at Derby but it was a very wet and windy night and as I'd only narrowly avoided some boy racer idiot driving into me at Hulland Ward who obviously had no understanding fo what Give Way actually means I thought it might be prudent to avoid tempting fate a second time.  Felt a bit guilty for not going though when I said that I would.

Wednesday 18th November 2015
Up at 4am to see what dog was barking at - decided there was no big problem and went back to bed then up at 5.45am.  Dog walked and papers fetched, got into the office for 7.50am.   Hoping to leave a bit early today.  Although hoped to leave didn't actually get away until 7.15pm.  Had a bit of a rehearsal focusing on one song and got it pretty much nailed.  Couldn't work out why I couldn't play this song properly until I found out that there's one bar of 3/4 time in it that throws the down beat of the next bar out so if you play it straight you find the bass drum and snare drum are totally in the wrong place.  Anyway, forensically listening to the tune and getting it written down really helped.  Am feeling a bit like a musical director this year taking the initiative in getting song structures safely navigated through.  Anyway set off home, decided to avoid Hulland Ward and its ar$ehole driver by going Derby way home which would have worked well apart from someone wanting to throw himself off a bridge and shutting the A38 for an hour so back home about 8.10pm.  Tea. Dog Walk.  The usual watched "You, me and the apocalypse" which was very good I thought although a hell of a twist at the end.

Thursday 19th November 2015
Bad form this morning didn't get up until 6:08!  Dog walk, papers fetched into the office for 8.10am so not too disappointed with that.  Good day in the office, found out all sorts of stuff.  Had to move music stuff out of rehearsal space as they wanted it for training.  Never mind.  Picked Lucy up from School on way home.  Big walk with Lily for a change.

Up at 5.50am.  Dog walked, papers fetched.  McD brekko.  In office for 8.10am.   No rehearsal as we had to clear the room.  Had a drinky poo and watched some telly when got home.

Saturday 21st November 2015
Missus going shopping.    Was up early, fetched papers and took el pooch a walk.   Piccy B brekko.  Did a few things in greenhouse.  Tried to get a computer table up into the attic it must be 5 mil to big - what a pain so had to put stuff back,  Golf at 12 noon - very, very cold but pretty, could see snow up on the hills.  Played very averagely  - just can't putt these days - might put a bit of practice in over the week as it will be fur and feather this coming saturday and my game is far from A1.  Such is life.   Bought a NOWTV box from Argos for £13 with two months of Sky Movies - after haggling Sky down to £22.50 on Thursday night to upgrade to have movies would cost an additional £22.50/month so £6.50 a month sound grand.  Phil and Lucy watched Penguins of Madagascar and other nonsense so feels like we're getting value for money already!!

Sunday 22nd November 2015
Up early.  Dog walked.  Not as cold as a I expected first thing but got colder.   Borrowed Phil's van and fetched a water barrel from the lotty.  Phil give us a hand to drill a hole for a tap and also for water overflow.  Took it back down lotty - got it plumbed up to the other one.

Took Pooch on a big walk round Waterly Lane and back up through the farm.   As weather was half decent I thought I ought to get down the lotty - took the bean rows down,  Put the big canes into the shed on number 7 so they should be good for next year - Shed 7 is slightly non-standard in that it's nine foot long but am not going to be telling anyone that! Got a load of daffs and tulips in as well so hopefully they'll be alright.

Rehearsal for Big Lix farewell concert - did the three tracks I'm doing and then off home!  Am a bit out of sorts with the old drums it has to be said.  Watched the Pick of Destiny on the Now TV box - I need to see where you cancel it for 21st January!

Papers fetched.  Set off at 7.10, got into office 8.15 bloody A38.  got home a bit after 6pm.   Tea then dog walked then a load of Firewall work - made some progress on project Stable but Project Barn still an issue - might be the VLAN settings.  More dog walks. Bed late but never mind. 0A

Up at 5:58 - very late.   Dog walked, papers fetched.  Did a bit in the greenhouse.  Into the office for 8.20 about the same time as yesterday but set off 30 minutes later pretty much.  Load more work on firewall last night after rehearsal  cancelled.   Very frustrating.  By 11pm I'd got three virtual access points running from a single true access point so more progress being made!   Might have it all finished by the weekend!  0A

Up at 6:00 on the dot, had a job to get to sleep for once, anyway got off flying - dog walked and back to base by 6.35.    Into the office by 7.45am although had to wait ten minutes until ruddy Windows Updates had finished - such is life I suppose.  Got to Ashbourne for 5.50pm, picked Lucy up from School and back home about 6.10pm.  Tea, dog walk, more firewall, vlan, virtual access point stuff and that's damn near finished.  0A

Friday 13th November 2015
Wowzer, didn't get up until 6.11 something going on in my head I reckon.   Dog walk, most of papers fetched and back by 6.50am which was okay as rest of household not in as much as a rush as usual. Into work for 8.15.  All good stuff.   Finally rehearsed just two guitarists and mesen.  Wasn't too bad really.  Hopefully will all come together at a pace.  Home for a bit after 8pm didn't bother with football I predicted England would get beaten 3-0 and was only 33% out with overall score.  0A

Saturday 14th November 2015
Wet horrible day predicted.  In fact morning wasn't too bad.   Took pooch for a decent walk and fetched papers to start day off.  Did a bit in the greenhouse.  Put the summer outdoor furniture away - can get metal chairs in greenhouse and put the other stuff under a tarp so all good stuff.   Golf got cancelled and good job too as it started to rain about noon and never really gave up so that was a good decision Mr Westerman!   So got on with finishing off the VLAN/Firewall and am now relatively happy with it.   Watched telly, walked dog which was pretty much the story of this weekend. 0A

Watered greenhouse (still got some stuff on the go, oh yes).  Work for about 8.30.   Busy day.  Practice cancelled due to lack of commitment/memory by some folks.  Home for about 6pm.  Dog walk.  Went to help Phil take some bits off his trailor, get a load of manky rubbish tidied up and get his trailer turned round for monring.


Tuesday 3rd November 2015 
Up at 5.55.  Dog walked, papers fetched.  Off to work at 7.20, got there 8:30 due to somebody parking their lorry across the A38 apparently. Found out that travel reports apart from being too infrequent and bloody useless are delivered by Chiara Glorioso on Radio Derby whose name definitely makes up for the crappy late reports.   The perfect storm would be to have Glorioso deliver the travel then Sara Blizzard do the weather - that would be great.   Anyroad - a really busy day. Got home about 6pm.  Dog walk.  Tea. Watched more of the enjoyable "You, me and the Apocalypse" with Rob Lowe and all sorts of folks you'd not expect to be in the same thing.  Bed not long after 10pm right tired.

Up at 5.45.  Some gits walking their dogs at 12:30 didn't help a sleepful night as it set our dog off for about half an hour.  Inconsiderate halfwits.  Anyway got most of the papers, Times wasn't in again.   Back hoke in decent enough time, still no rehearsal. hmmm

Bit of an issue - dress shirt for Saturday don't ruddy fit.  So tried Tesco - no joy (but did get 8 bags of compost for 48p a bag so not a complete loss).  Tried Burtons but they only do them at Chesterfield or Derby which is no good for me I ain't travelling.  Local shop in Ashbourne has one but I ain't paying £32 for one (cheapskate that I am).  Never mind, have a plan B.  Back home in not bad time.  Bed fariyl early.

Saturday 7th November 2015
Up early dog walked.  Papers fetched.  Piccy B Brekkie.   Took Lucy and El Poocher over to Darley Dale.  Got home and set off for Birmingham before noon!!  Into Hotel at about 1:30 due to road works and missing one damn turn. In pub by about 2:30 after finding pub we used to go to has been knocked down.  Off to Slimming World Woman of Year 2015 at the ICC for 5:15!!!  On a table with the gals from HR and the Rathbone clan - top night - fantastic life-stories - Jason Donnovan wasn't a bad host although was a bit disappointed to find he's a year younger than I am (not sure why).

Saw loads of folks, some of whom I'd not seen for some time so a great night.  Left a bit after midnight - fireworks still going off at 1am - what's that all about.  Nicely sober though so that wsas nice.

Sunday 8th November 2015
Woke up at 6.30, breakfast at 7:40, on road for about 8.15 and back home by about 9:20 - all good stuff.  Did a bit down the lotty - got me garlic in, weeded two beds covered one up, started putting pathways down.   Need to get second water butt sorted out as first one on number 7 is now full and overflowing.   Brought back spuds, onions, sweetcorn, cabbage, a butternut squash that was left behind somehow - lost some garlic somewhere - am hoping it's still in Shed 7.

The bottom bed is covered up now so should keep weeds off, you can see the path idea on this one too

Over to Darley Dale for lunch and then back home for about 5:30.  Up at Phil's bosses to watch Alton Towers fireweorks at 7pm ish.   All good stuff.  Bed early at 9:21

Going home day.  Up early and dog walked as usual.  Red sky in the morning shepard's warning etc.etc.

Tidying up, loading up and getting off home.   As I knew there was trouble with the Conwy tunnels I though we'd go the Betwys Y Coed scenic route home.  Which was okay apart from taking about an hour longer - the scenery though is out of this world stunning.  Will get some pics off the bosses phone.  Got home about 5'ish and unloaded then did bog-all apart from dog walks and a trip to the new Aldi late on.  Janette thinks it's not that big but it's the biggest Aldi I've been in.

Up early dog walked, papers fetched.  Into the office for 8am.  After work nipped over to Darley to sort something out on me dad's laptop and show me mum an old film of DP Battery, Bakewell.   Back home for tea, dog walk, bit of telly.  Watching a wierd study of an Oak tree from BBC 4 iplayer.  Some people have odd jobs - they had a whole team of folks pull an oak out of the ground to simulate what would happen in a force 10 storm?  Why.   Strange.   Anyroad, bed for just after 10pm

Woke up at 4:30 off out with the dog at 5:50.  Most of the papers fetched.  No Times' in even when I did second pass at 7:25.  Marvellous. Fantasy useless Football team updated:

Running a bit late.  Went to get paper and was successful on third pass at 7.15.   Missus driving so we dropped some stuff off for Phil and I walked back from Mayfield.  Bed a bit after 10pm

Up at 5.45.   Took dog a walk and fetched papers - all in this week.  Lovely.  Into office for a bit after 8am after getting some juice on the way.  Home in not bad time about 6.15.  Dog walked, tea had.  Nipped to Aldiland cause we're addicted it appears!!  Telly, bins out, bed.

Up early.  Dog walked, most of the papers fetched (half the Times missing).  Piccy B brekko.  Tidied the greenhouse out.  Strawbs for next year have gone in and sweet peas, potatoes going on nicely - 3 broccoli plants repotted in big tomato pots all good stuff.   Golf at 12.30 only played 14 holes as too slow as always.  Beer in the clubhouse then back home to find house taken over by Lucy and friends.  Apparently it's Hallow'een.   Not many tricker treaters, went to bed about 10.00

1st November already, blimey O'Reilly.  Up a bit late at 7am.  Quick dog walk and then working on laptops for cousin's daughters.   Got Windows 8 on em so everything takes three times as long as it ought to.   Such is life.  Big walk for poocher then went for lunch with me mum and dad, dropping off laptops on the way and picking up a brace of pheasants (as you do).

On way home stopped to take a pic of the window display at G Wathall & Son Ltd on Union Street - if Carling did remembrance....

Back home about four o'clock gave Phil a hand taking back off his trailer.   Got dark so walked home.  All good stuff.

Woke up mega early.  Stopped in bed until 5.45.  Took dog walk, got papers back home for 6.30.  Into office a little bit after 8am.  Out of the office a bit before 6pm.  Got home, had tea, walked pooch, worked on wlan for Cbay - utter failure am going to start again from scratch I reckon.  Bed at almost 11pm.  Not best pleased.

Tuesday 20th October 2015
Didn't sleep well as was really grumpy and it got into my dreamscape.  Never mind.  Got up proper at 5.30.  Dog walk and papers fetched by 6.40 as pooch going mega slow.  In the office a bit after 8am.  Meeting in the afternoon - interesting stuff.  Got home 6pm.  Tea.  Dog walked.  Telly.  Have given up on getting the firewall ready in time for next trip so pressure is now off.   Bed about 9.40 for a proper sleep.

Up at 4:30, chucking it down with rain when I woke up.   Waited til about 6am then said "stuff it, rain it is!".  Dog walked and papers fetched.  In office for just gone 8am.

Thursday 22nd October 2015
Dog walk and everything done early doors.   Finished work around lunchtime and off to Wales.  A bizzard flew into the car on the way home which really spoilt things - beautiful bird.   Traffic to Wales was the usual pain in the backside with roadworks at Conwy really slowing things down.  Got there for about 8pm after a couple of stops.  Settled in and bed about 10pm'ish

Out with the dog early doors.  Brekko.  Walk up Parys mountain - apparently this was the biggest copper mine in the world at one time.  The chap who found the main seam of copper ore was given a house for life and a bottle of brandy back in the day.  Now it's just an other-worldly spot with very little growing but a lot of heritage.

Saturday 24th October 2015
Absolutely nailing it down with rain - even the pooch wasn't bothered about going out.  Around 11am it started clearing up and ended up quite nice.

By Saturday lunchtime rain had blown through

The usual  but also fished a local mark with Vic called the Lily Ponds.  I had a plaice first cast then nothing else, Vic has a string of Pollack.  Not a bad spot.  Slipped on my bad knee on the way back which wasn't ideal but on the positive side Derby beat Huddersfield 2-1!    Bit tired so no more fishing.

Sunday 25th October 2015
Up early (even though clocks had gone back), dog walking.  Went to Penhros for a long walk round.   Nice spot.

Penhros - reminded me of the Gretchen goes to Nebraska album cover. 

 Then Penhros retail park so boss kat and Lucy could do a bit of shopping.   Then to the Tollhouse for coffee and cake.  All good stuff.  Bit of fishing in the evening resulting in a few bites and a conversion - pin Whiting the nuisance that saved the blank.

After watching Men in Black III (odd) and an episode of Bones I was ready for an early night last night.  So up at 5:50 and walking pooch a short while later after scraping the car windscreen (first frost?).   Papers fetched, ready for work and in by 8am - roads busy as there's been a nasty crash on M1   Finished work and got back about 6.30ish.  Tea then walked pooch - dropping dark unbelievably quickly now.  Then back home watched Cradle to Grave and a bit of the football but hell's teeth does Glen Hoddle's commentary grind on - you could induce a coma with him talking about anything I'm sure.    While doing that I was also configuring a firewall for a wifi project I've got coming later in the month.  Made a load of progress and so should be able to finish that off in short order I hope.  Bed closer to 11pm than I would have liked.

Up at 5.45.  Dog walked, papers fetched - back home by about 6.30.  Into the office by 8am.  Got the missus and second, biggest and lastest Xmas present sorted by 1.30am so that's good!   Seen this today - talk about awesome application of technology.

Got home about 6.30.  Tea, dog walks and bog all else achieved - hate this time of year.  Bloody dark.

Up at 5.45.  Dog walked, papers fetched. Work for just gone 8am. Back home. Tea. Dog walk. Messed about for hours trying to get the ruddy sonicwall wep keys to work .  What a pain!   11.15pm before got to bed - will pay for that tomorrow.

Thursday 15th October 2015
Up at 6:02 - said I'd pay for it.  Dog walk, Papers fetched.  Running an errand for the missus so went to Uttoxeter before work fetched some stuff.  Took dog another big walk and then into the office for 10.45am.   Will make time up over two days easy peasy.    Got a Griffin Beacon remote control for Ipad/Iphone to play with when I get home.  Short answer is the ruddy Beacon works fine but can't download the app for it in UK app store and can't set up a dummy account for US app store because of bloody Apple.  What a pain in the ass.  Bed in good time for a change though.


Friday 16th October 2015
Got up at 5.45 best I could do.   Dog walked, papers fetched.  All good stuff. Into work for 8.15am.  Grinder of a day with a gap for a presentation on pensions at 2pm.  Interesting stuff.  Somehow have got involved in a pub quiz tonight.  Hope it don't go on for too long - have got a lot to do.  Fantasy football team - made Martial captain - let's see how that plays out.  also replaced Firminho who has been a waste of space for me.

After work it was quick dog walk then up to the Shoulder of Mutton for some football team fundraiser Pub Quiz that was more fun that it sounds it turned out especially with a chip cob at half time.  Good.

Saturday 17th October 2015
Up early dog walked.  Papers fetched.  Did a bit down the lotty taking slabs up and bringing bags of rubbish off and down to the rubbish tip.  Then fetched brekkie for Lucy and mesen.  Then took pooch a big walk, then golf.  Back twinged on first tee so played 16 holes without taking a practice swing and did pretty well really - problem I have is on the greens - have no feel for putting at all.

   Such is life.  Saturday night after chippie tea saw us driving into the back of beyond to see Jon Allen supported by Karima Francis at Alstonefield Village Hall - excellent fun and me and the missus were amongst the youngest there which is always nice!!

Sunday 18th October 2015
Pad's birthday so lots of high tension and hassle.  Got up at 8.20, dog w\alk,  did some jobs in greenhouse then did an hour or so down the lottie weeding the paths on 13 so I can get some weed resistant material down with slabs holding it down and bark in between - that's the plan.  Got most of it done just a small section left.  Back home fetched Pad's stuff with the boss of the world.  Took pooch another big walk up the back of the cricket ground towards Sprinkshill wood.

 Lunch with me mum and dad and Pad coming.    Rugby on telly.  Got some tomatoes for me mum and dad after catching me mum scrumping.   Bit more Rugby.  Slight kip on the sofa.  Dog walk before dark.  Shoes polished.  Bedtime at 10pm.

Up early. Dog walked.  Papers fetched. Toms watered.  Ready for work and in office before 8am.  A good start but will it last???  Back home in good time - weather rubbish. Tea  and short dog walk then a load of hassle with configuring the Sonicwall - watched Doc Martin at 9pm which was quite good I thought.   Bed for about 10.45 after doing some John Pye browsing.

Tuesday 6th October 2015
Up at 5.45.  Dog walked, papers fetched.  Work for a bit after 7am second day in a row there's been a queue past the Normo exit so getting off a bit earlier til roads sort themselves out.  Funny day in the office but it got done. Good day in the office.  Had to get off bang on time as boss going out at 6pm then I was going to a council meeting at 7pm.  When got there it was proper wierd and a friend who is on the council said that someone would be asking the questions for me - so went home and took dog a walk!!  Ace.  Last New Tricks on the telly.  Quite sad that it's disappearing really.  Such is life, nothing lasts for ever but the earth and sky to quote Kansas.  Bed for 10.30

Wednesday 7th October 2015
Woke up at 5.45, dog walked, papers fetched by 6.30. In the office before 8am.  Everything on rails. Picking up the missus' Xmas present later - how prepped am I!!!  Went to group another half on. Am right off the rails when it comes to weight at the minute.   Need a change.  Home about 5.30, tea, dog walk - went round the big meadow - very wet and dark by 7pm.  Read a white paper on virtual access points - a right rivetting read!!

Phil been tractoring at Brailsford Ploughing Match  - came home with a load of hats and socks!  Bed for about 9.45, very tired.

Thursday 8th October 2015
Told work I'd be in a bit later than usual as got to go Marchington to fetch something for the missus' mate.  Gave me an opportunity to take pooch a second walk in daylight for a change so we did the big wet meadow.  Let her off the lead as soon as we were over the bridge so she goes charging after a tractor that's going along the road on the other side of the hedge.  So back on the lead she goes until we start coming back alongside the river.

Got to work for about 10.30 so not too bad, going to stay late at work to make up the time.   Got home a bit after 7pm.  All good, found a power supply for a gadget I bought from an auction so that's all working albeit without a remote control (not that I think you need one for it really).   Couple more dog walks and lots of Bones boxset on the telly.  Phil likes it you see.  Missed Cradle to Grave so will have to catch that on the iplayer.   Bed before 10pm again.  Good

Up at 5:50.  Dog walked, papers fetched by 6.30.   Watered toms a couple of plants are now getting towards being finished thank the Lord so I will be getting some space back soon!   Into the office about 8.15am.  Got home about 6.30.  All good.  Big walk with pooch then last episode of Midwinter of the Spirit then off to bed.

Saturday 10th October 2015
Up early'ish.  Dog walked. Papers fetched then off to Belper for Dog Grooming at Beth Crofts Dog Grooming.  Bit of breakfast and shopping at Morrissons then fetch dog home and up to golf course.  Lost a shiny pound to John but it was nice to get 18 holes in.  Had knee strapped up and that worked really well.  Beer in the clubhouse then back home.  Took pooch for a big walk up Sprinks Wood to try and find some conkers for Janette's friend but not to be found - don't think it's too late?  Got home - caught up with Dr Who which is as bizarre as ever!  Watcher a  bit of rugby and exchanged messaged with our Andrew who is fishing in Anglesey, the jammy bugger.

Sunday 11th October 2015
Lie-in til 7am! Another mild day which is good as my pumpkins are still out but will get them brought in today!!  Took pooch for a two mile walk to start the day and she loved it.  Down lotty to bring pumpkins in before the first frost (have chanced my arm enough now!).  Also took 2 bags of rubbish down to tip and 8 slabs up to number 13 to sort the paths out between the raised beds.   Back for 10am over to see me mum and dad.   Had a walk up the road to see if could find any conkers but only got three - apparently they keep spiders away?   Back home we went to Cross for lunch but it was chokker so that went down well with the boss, very well indeeed.  Got back home and kept out of the way for a bit - mowed front, back and outside too! All good stuff.    Took Phil some lunch (life or Riley).  Got back and we had visitors from Leek for an hour or so.  Down lotty to do a bit of tidying.  All good.  Back home

Up early. Dog walked, papers fetched, off to work.  Loads done in the office.  Back home 6.15ish.  Mum has been admitted to Callow so am rather worried about that but will go visit tomorrow.  Big walk with the dog, couldn't let her off the lead as much as the field was full of other folks' dogs but nevermind she got a big walk.

A bit of telly and then off to bed 10.20ish

Kept waking up as Phil needed to be up at 5am.  Woke him up at 4.55 then went back to bed for a bit.  Took dog out at 5.55am.  Watered toms, brekko and off to work.  A good day - Dad's fetched mum home, they've found out what the problem is (what my dad said it was days ago).  Home for 6.15.  Tea. Dog walked. Dark.  Naff-all

Up at 5:55. Dog walked, papers fetched (well 66% of, Express wasn't in). Went to Lotty to water the new stuff, fetched a bag of beans at same time.  Into the office a bit later at 8:30 but still in before most folks so pleased with that.  Helped out with some interviewing at work then went to Aldi then went over to see me mum who is on the mend which is great.  Got home for a bit after 9pm in time to watch next episode of Midwinter of the Spirit which is proper wierd, it's wierd in as much as I think the female lead of it used to be a young girl on Brookside donkey's years ago?  Watched champions league highlights then bed about 11pm - way too late!

Thursday 1st October 2015
Phil's alarm went off at 5am, then 5:05, then 5:10 so I went and asked him to switch the bugger off.  Went back to bed and didn't wake until 6:20 so behind before I even start.  Dog walked and back home for a bit after 7pm, in the office by 8:20.  Not best pleased.  Have worked for Slimming World for 24 years today.  Got home about 6.15.  Took the pooch for a walk in Mappleton for a change - not sure if I'll go again.  Need the boss to drop me off and pick me up perhaps next time.   Watched Dodgeball (again) and bed a bit after 11pm again - way too late.

Friday 2nd October 2015
Got up at 5:30.  Papers, dog walk.  Toms watered.  Office for 8.15.  All good stuff.  Had to leave work early so bosskat could go and keep an eye on me mum.  Dog walks and telly.   Bosskat back for 11pm.

Saturday 3rd October 2015
Up early.  Dog walk. Papers fetched.  A couple of hours on the lotty weeding.  Back home fetched piccy B for me and Lucy.  11.20 catching bus to Derby for the Brentford game which we'd go on to win 2-0.

Flag-happy linesman was a bit of a pain to say the least. 

Back home for 6.15, plenty of time to walk the pooch and get ready for the disappointment that was Australia thrashing England at rugby.  Never mind, at least we got the ashes.

Bed about 10pm after a final quick dog walk.

Sunday 4th October 2015.
Up early. Dog walk. Loads of jobs in garden clearing away sunflowers, sweet peas, potatoes, planting daffodils and tulips.  Put a load of sweet peas in pots for next year.  All good stuff, late morning took the pooch for a big walk (well big for a dog with short legs anyway).  Saw geese flying west (not sure what that's all about).  Let dog off the lead for the most part which she loves, absolutely loves - still don't trust her 100% but it will come.

After walk went to Cross at Cauldon Lowe for lunch.  Very nice.  Back home we went down to lotty.  Strimmed and mowed.  Harvested a ton of runner beans, spuds, cabbage, the last (again) of the raspberries and butternut squashes.  Got some massive pumpkins ready just debating when to take them (before the first frost is the key);

Back home.  Lily gets second big walk of the day. 6pm and the sun really low.  Hate this time of year (it's rubbish).

Anyway, back home, polished shoes for tomorrow.  Did a few bits and bobs but went to bed at 9pm as was cream crackered.
